since 1990 the "Miss Model International Pageant" was introduced by J & J Productions on the island of St. Maarten/St. Martin.

Due to the success of this pageant the promoters have expanded and will now include a complete St. Maarten Fashion Week, which will be called "The St. Maarten Fashion Festival". The Fashion week promises to give our island St. Maarten/St. Martin considerable added exposure in our Tourism Market.

As Commissioner of Tourism and Economic Affairs for the island territory of St. Maarten, and on behalf of the Government of St. Maarten, I applaud the hard work of J & J Productions.

In view of the economic added value to our already growing tourism product and I would hereby like to endorse their endeavours in trying to make St. Maarten the Caribbean Fashion Capital and wish them much success with the Fashion week and Miss Model International Pageant.

Best wishes to all participanting countries and businesses on the island of St. Maarten/St. Martin and during their stay on the Island I hope they would enjoy our beautiful ambiance.
